It’s hard to believe we will be hosting our 6th Annual Simple Bare Necessities 5k Fun Run, “Race for Dignity” on Saturday, October 12th, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. located at The Green (207 S Spur 63, Longview, TX).

We’re excited to invite you to be part of the 5th Annual Simple Bare Necessities 5K Fun Run, Race for Dignity — Saturday March 28, 2026 with the official date to be announced early next year. As you are aware, children in the program are economically identified by living at or below 130 percent of the federal poverty line, a family of four making less than $41,000 annually.

It’s hard to believe that our initiative, which we started while in high school, has grown so much. Since

launching in 2020, Race for Dignity has continued to make an incredible impact, raising over $150,000+ to provide essential hygiene products to children in need. This event directly supports the mission of Simple Bare Necessities, a nonprofit that exists to provide underprivileged youth with access to personal hygiene products, ensuring they feel secure, dignified, and confident. Over the past five years, we’ve experienced tremendous growth.— bringing our total since inception to more than 15,000+ kits provided to students in the Longview Independent School District.

We look forward to continuing to expand this mission. This year we have a significant growth in numbers served as we have 1900 students in our backpack program and anticipate 7600 bags completed.

The Race for Dignity this Spring 2026 will be open to everyone—from beginner walkers to experienced runners—and 100% of the proceeds benefit Simple Bare Necessities, with donations being tax-deductible.
